The Westminster government has backtracked from their plan to remove a large number of rights and standards and is having to overhaul the Retained EU Law Bill. This had included a number of employment rights, including TUPE transfers and the Working Time Directive, which had been established in the UK from EU law.

The PDA, as a member of the Prescription Charges Coalition, has welcomed the UK Government’s promise to scrap harsh proposals that would have ended free prescriptions for 60 to 65-year-olds - but says there still needs to be an urgent review of the outdated prescription charge exemption list.

PDA calls for tripartite discussions for community pharmacy in Scotland

Reports suggest that negotiations between the Scottish government and the pharmacy owners’ body, Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) have broken down. As the independent voice of the frontline employed and locum pharmacists that deliver the contract, the PDA wants to see an agreement found for the benefit of patients, taxpayers, and health professionals.

PDA Regional Committees discuss member concerns

The PDA Regional Committees are pharmacists and PDA members from across all areas of pharmacy practice. They are elected to represent the wider PDA membership. They meet regularly to discuss current issues in pharmacy ahead of PDA National Executive Committee meetings.

PDA attends the annual Northern Ireland Pharmacy Conference
