PDA members at Rowlands concerned as some told they will receive no pay increase

The PDA is receiving calls from pharmacists at Rowlands that have concerns about the company's decision and communications regarding pay rates, including from some who claim that their Regional Leaders have just phoned pharmacists to tell them there will be no pay increase this year.

NAWP ‘Women Leading in Pharmacy’ event hailed a great success

On Saturday 13 March, NAWP hosted an online event to mark International Women’s Day. The UN theme for 2021 was Women in Leadership: achieving an equal future in a Covid-19 world, so the event focused on Women Leading in Pharmacy.

Inclusion on shortage occupation list demonstrates how there is something broken in regards to pharmacist pay rates

The basic laws of economics say if demand is greater than supply, rates should increase, yet while many PDA members experience locum rates or salaries that have suffered real-term cuts over the last decade, pharmacy employers have convinced the government to add pharmacists to the official shortage occupation list that allows more workers in the listed categories to be recruited into the UK from overseas.
